VKV SMART TUBE

Many people like to go kayaking, but many of the older and some of the younger, do not take the step into a kayaking world becuase they feel it is very difficult to get in and even more diffcult to get out of the kayak.

To be honest, can you from sitting position on the floor get up without using your hands and arms to raise your body?

When you sit in a kayak it is the same. By grabbing the front part of the cockpit frame, one get some assistance in raising the body and transfer the weight to the feet , but it takes som training to master it.

If one would be able to have a handle in shoulder height instead of the cockpit frame, it would be much easier to raise or lower the body into the kayak.

This was the starting point when we developed the "VKV SMART TUBE". It is simply a strong fiber glass tube that is anchored to the bottom of the kayak and at the center part of the cockpit frame.

The entry and exiting from the kayak is amazingly simple when using this device. You also have a better control of the kayak in relation to the dock.

If you at the same time mount our VKV Stabilazors, then you are fee to use booth arms to move your body. All of a sudden you have changed a standard kayak to one that can be used by handicapped people.

We feel the "VKV SMART TUBE" is such an important safety device that we have deceded not seek any patent. With the "SMART TUBE" concept and the possibility to be used globally it will enable previously reluctant user to enter into to the sport of kayaking.

We can at the current time offer the "SMART TUBE" for all our VKV and Seabird Kayaks equipped with the VKV LD-type sterring using"Full size" foot pedals.
